This is more than a senior controller role. We’re looking for someone ready to step into leadership. Not someone who just wants to “do the job” — but someone who wants to own it, improve it, and progress from it. As a Control Room Team Leader, you’ll oversee a team of Control Room Administrators operating 24/7, ensuring our National Operations Centre runs smoothly, professionally, and to the highest standard. This is an entry-point management role for someone ambitious, proactive, and capable of multitasking at a high level in a fast-paced operational environment.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead from the front — operationally and behaviourally.
- Supervise and support a team of Controllers across day and night shifts.
- Monitor live staffing, attendance, welfare checks, and incident response.
- Ensure duress activations and escalations are handled correctly and promptly.
- Oversee workload distribution during peak periods.
- Maintain exceptional accuracy in reporting and incident logging.
- Lead structured handovers between shifts.
- Coach team members to improve performance and confidence.
- Identify process improvements and drive standards upward.
- Act as the first point of escalation before matters move to senior management.
- Manage multiple tasks without compromising standards.
The Type of Person We're Looking For
- A senior controller ready for leadership.
- A shift lead in operations, logistics, or monitoring.
- A high-performing administrator who naturally takes ownership.
- An aspiring manager looking for their first formal leadership role.
- Proactive — you spot problems before they become issues.
- Highly organised — accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Confident making decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable managing performance and having honest conversations.
- Strong across multiple systems at once.
- Able to remain calm when everything happens at the same time.
What You'll Get
- ÂŁ33,500 salary.
- Genuine management experience.
- 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
- Full leadership support and development.
- Real progression opportunities within the National Operations Centre.
- A role where your standards shape the team.
Why Join Us?
Because this is where control meets leadership. The National Operations Centre supports thousands of colleagues across the UK. When something goes wrong — we fix it. When someone doesn’t arrive on site — we act. When welfare checks are missed — we intervene. As Team Leader, you’ll ensure your team does that flawlessly. Our success is built on quality people — and we’re serious about developing future managers. If you want a structured pathway into operational management within a national business, this is your opportunity.
