We are looking for an experienced Multiskilled Engineer - Plumbing & Mechanical Bias to deliver a reliable and efficient M&E maintenance service across two Mitie client sites, reporting into the Technical Supervisor. The role covers plumbing, mechanical and general building duties, ensuring the safe and compliant operation of all plant, equipment and water systems through planned, reactive and small works activities.

The position requires strong customer service skills, as engineers work daily in areas occupied by senior stakeholders and must communicate clearly, respectfully and confidently. You will be responsible for delivering plumbing and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, repairs, modifications and minor installations. This includes work on pressure vessels, pumps, TMVs, water tanks, closed loop systems, calorifiers and monthly water hygiene regimes. You will also support basic electrical and fabric tasks when required.

All work must follow company procedures, RAMS, isolation practices and statutory requirements, raising any hazards or system deficiencies that may impact safety, service delivery or compliance. You will be expected to maintain high standards of workmanship, ensure accurate documentation, complete all required paperwork and update PDA/CAFM records in a timely manner. You will support KPI delivery, liaise with contractors and external suppliers where required, and help maintain a safe, well-managed working environment at all times.

A luxury retail office site, working closely with senior stakeholders and maintaining a high-standard, client-focused service environment. A warehouse/office site, supporting a broader operational setting with practical, fast-paced maintenance requirements and a strong emphasis on Health and Safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver statutory and operational PPMs and reactive plumbing/mechanical repairs, including isolation, fault finding and remedial works.
  • Carry out water hygiene regimes including monthly checks, temperature monitoring, TMV servicing, water tank inspections, dosing and flushing.
  • Perform mechanical tasks including pump maintenance, pressure vessel inspections, valve servicing, strainers, heating/cooling water checks and minor pipework works.
  • Support compliance activities such as closed system sampling, calorifier inspections and expansion vessel checks.
  • Provide plumbing/mechanical input for office moves, small works and water/heating supply adjustments.
  • Manage and escort contractors on site, ensuring safe systems of work, inductions and permit processes are followed.
  • Participate in general building tasks (basic electrical resets, fire system operational tests, fabric support, minor handyman tasks, etc) when required.
  • Maintain accurate PDA/CAFM records and follow safety procedures, including Lock Out / Tag Out and Permit to Work.
  • Participate in on call rota and attend out of hours calls as required.
  • Attend additional weekend works as required by business needs.
  • Undertake all necessary training in a timely manner to meet role requirements.
  • Travel between sites when required to attend emergency tasks, with all travel covered under company expenses.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong commercial plumbing and mechanical maintenance experience (3 years+).
  • Competence with water hygiene regimes, pressure vessels, pumps and water systems, TMV servicing experience.
  • Ability to work independently as the site's plumbing/mechanical lead.
  • Confident with PDA use, record keeping and reporting.
  • Physically capable with safe manual handling competency.
  • Working at Height / PASMA certification (or willingness to train).
Desirable
  • Unvented Hot Water (G3) certification.
  • L8 Awareness and legionella control experience.
  • Experience with pumps, calorifiers, expansion vessels and closed loop systems.
  • IPAF/MEWP certification.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.

Suitable training may be provided where required to ensure the successful candidate is competent to meet the demands of the role.
