Mitie is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Engineer - Plumbing/Mechanical Bias to join our team and help maintain a wide range of building systems at two of our key client's sites situated at London Bridge and Canary Wharf. You will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of essential infrastructure. Full time, Permanent 40 hours per week.
Main Duties
- Responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a variety of mechanical installations.
- This includes ventilation systems such as air handling units (AHUs) and intake/extract systems, heating and cooling systems including thermal wheels and fan coil units (FCUs), as well as water systems like booster sets, calorifiers, and water heaters.
- Day-to-day tasks will involve both preventative and reactive maintenance, which may range from basic plumbing to statutory compliance checks such as legionella monitoring.
- Expected to respond to client queries, report any defects, and provide clear, timely updates.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, remedial work, and service documentation is essential.
What we are looking for
- Someone who can deliver a high standard of service, communicate clearly with clients, and keep accurate records of inspections and remedial work.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at height, and performing manual tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to use a mobile device for reporting are essential.
- Flexibility is key, as while core hours are 8am to 5pm, some adjustments may be needed to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a Maintenance or Facilities Management environment.
- Relevant qualifications: F-Gas, C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 5, or HNC equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Permit to Work systems, and safe working practices.
