Location: Perth, Pitheavlis

Shift Pattern: Night Shift (19:00 – 07:00) with flexible rota.

Role Overview

We are seeking two reliable and safety-conscious Multi‑Skilled Engineers (Electrical Bias) to ensure the smooth operation of our site during night hours. While your core expertise must be electrical, this is a hands‑on, multi-skilled position. You will be the primary technical presence on‑site overnight, meaning you must be willing to “turn your hand” to whatever maintenance task arises—whether electrical, mechanical, or general facilities work.

Shift Pattern & Flexibility

  • Coverage: The role requires 7‑day‑a‑week coverage shared between two engineers.
  • The Rota: You and your counterpart will have the autonomy to decide your own 28‑day rota (e.g., 4 on/4 off, 3 on/4 off, etc.), provided full coverage is maintained.
  • Induction Period: Please note that for the first 3 months, you will be required to work the Day Shift. This is essential to gain full site familiarity, understand our systems, and meet the wider team before transitioning to nights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Duties (Core Specialist)

  • Complete electrical installations and maintenance strictly adhering to BS 7671 (18th Edition) standards.
  • Carry out testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and updates to maintenance work orders.
  • Utilize appropriate test equipment and tools, demonstrating a clear understanding of their limitations.
  • Safety First: Follow strict lockout/tagout procedures—no live working is permitted.

2. Multi‑Skilled & General Maintenance

  • Adopt a “site‑first” attitude: willing to attend to any job required on‑site, regardless of discipline.
  • Assist other tradespeople with wiring, calibration, alignment, and general repair tasks.
  • Perform mechanical fixes, general building fabric repairs, or plumbing checks as the situation dictates.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the facility.

3. Operational & Safety

  • Work independently as the night‑shift technical lead, making sound decisions without immediate supervision.
  • Attend toolbox talks and actively participate in safety briefings.
  • Raise safety concerns confidently and professionally.

âś… RequirementsQualifications:

  • Essential: Qualified to BS 7671 (18th Edition) in Electrical Installations.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience & Skills:

  • True Multi‑Skilled Mindset: You are a qualified electrician, but you are happy to pick up a wrench, a drill, or a broom if that is what is needed to keep the site running.
  • System Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant machinery, and controls.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Autonomy: Self‑motivated and well‑organized, with the discipline required to work night shifts effectively.
