Mitie has a great opportunity for a Security Officer in Manchester at one of our client's primary locations. You will be contracted to a minimum of 42 hours a week with a pay rate of £14.17 per hour. The location is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday; however, you may be asked to work special events that finish after 20:00 or occur on a Sunday.
You will be part of a large security team each day that reports to the Security Supervisor, with an Operations Manager also having oversight.

- As the first point of contact to all customers and clients, the Security Officer must be geographically aware of their local surroundings.
- There will be long periods of patrolling in all weather conditions, so someone who is not phased by working in an outdoor environment is desirable.
- The Security Officer must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.
- Report to the Security Shift Manager - record, report and elevate all sightings and arrests on a regular basis.
- The Security Officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers.
- The Security Officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- The Security Officer should be able to work on their own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills are essential (written and verbal).
- Retail Security experience is preferred but not essential.
- Flexible approach to work to suit the business needs.
- Calm under pressure.
- Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
