Mitie has a great opportunity for Corporate Security Officers to join our Total Security Management Team. We are looking for professional, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to work in the Manchester M24 area.

Position Details

  • Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
  • Contract Type: Fixed Term
  • Shifts: Weekdays, nights, weekend days, and weekend nights
  • Requirement: Valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Main Duties

  • Cover reception areas, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Conduct internal and external building patrols and safety checks across business parks and corporate sites.
  • Follow all access-control procedures and maintain a strong security presence.
  • Record all incidents, issues, and observations using the online portal and report them to the client and Account Manager.
  • Remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious or criminal activity, maintaining control until emergency services arrive.
  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating a determined, trustworthy, attentive, and approachable character.
  • Maintain good geographical awareness of the site surroundings as the first point of contact for clients and visitors.
  • Report and elevate incidents to the Security Manager as required.

Qualifications & Person Specification

  • Valid SIA Licence - Essential
  • 5-year work history vetting - Essential
  • Must be fully flexible to work days, nights, and weekends.
  • CV must include an up-to-date 5-year work history for vetting.
  • Strong team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Able to work confidently on their own initiative.
  • Flexible approach to meet business needs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to operate an online portal and basic IT equipment.
  • Calm under pressure with a professional attitude at all times.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Criminal and Civil Law, and PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) is desirable.
