Rota Pattern: Monday to Friday only
Hours: 12 hours per shift
Pay: £14.25 an hour
Day shift timings: 07:00 to 19:00 only
Qualifications

Responsibilities & Specific Tasks
- Protection of Life, Protection of Property, Prevention of Crime, Prevention of Loss and Waste
- Develop and maintain first class customer service relations with client staff, all visitors, business partners, key stakeholders, including site security team
- Provide assistance, directions and guidance to visitors on arrival
- To attain and maintain a high level of knowledge of the Site Assignment Instructions and Emergency Procedures and their local implementation, including building lock downs, shelter in place, emergency evacuation and first aid response in line with training level capacity
- To log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff
- Escorting of contractors and cleaning operatives in line with agreed procedures
- Conduct fire watch and loss prevention patrols (internal & external) in line with agreed policy and procedures
- To provide ad-hoc cover for BNY receptionist for breaks as required, including support to on-site client events
- To react positively and professionally in support of security operations and emergency situations as required
- Successfully complete site induction training to satisfactory standard, including completion of the Op Warden Trigger Plan, BNY Unannounced (Dawn Raids) training module within the designated training period; and any other Corporate Security training courses deemed appropriate by Corporate Security Management
- Complete satisfactory probationary assessment as part of personal training and development plan
Operational Duties
- Maintain a robust high visibility security posture in support of Denial/Detering/Detecting crime
- The FoH profile, presence and posture is to reassure management, staff and visitors that the premises and facilities are safe and secure
- Monitor and control access to the front entrance, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed on site
- Greet and assist staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain a visible presence at the front entrance, deterring potential security threats through proactive observation and engagement
- Provide directions, guidance, and information to individuals seeking assistance
- Collaborate with the Security Control Room (SCR) and all security personnel to ensure seamless coordination and effective response to emergencies
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities
- Assist in the coordination of special events or functions, ensuring appropriate security measures are in place
- Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism at all times
- Pinpoint suspicious behaviour and take remedial non‑confrontational action
- To proactively observe the outside perimeter, main entrance and ground floor reception areas for suspicious activity and opportunities to assist with colleagues and guests
- To proactively monitor building demise, recognising the behaviour of others, and to report any unusual activity immediately.
- To work as a coordinated team as part of routine duties and immediate response to safety, risk and emergency situations
- Immediate response to any incident and give confidence to others that the situation is being dealt with effectively and efficiently.
- Application of excellent situational awareness in relation to maintaining a high level of security and safety risk awareness, by being inquisitive while exercising caution and good judgement at all times
- Observation and surveillance skills to include risk and threat identification
- Application of SCaN principles and Power of Hello commensurate with countering risk of Hostile Reconnaissance
- Speedy and accurate reporting of suspicious activity
- Have a clear understanding of guidance and response relating to Crowd Control, Trespass & Aggravated Trespass, Static Protest and Protest in Place situations
- Understanding of risk specific to social media
- Auditor attention and application of NPSA guidance pertaining to the CALM approach
- Ability to act immediately in support of Emergency Response, including maintaining control, provide assistance and coordinate with emergency services
- Fulfil loading bay rotation duties in support of receipt of mail/parcel/courier deliveries to BNY
- Competency in operating mail X‑ray scanner, including identification of suspicious packages commensurate with PAS 97 Mail Screening and Security Specification (back up service only)
- Subject to experience and skill level, be prepared to step up to cover Duty Supervisor or CCTV Controller role, under direction and supervision of site Security Manager
- To maintain appropriate and timely contact with both the client and Mitie management in accordance with specific instructions and routine duties
- To follow and comply with all routine site operating procedures
- To maintain communications with BNY Global Corporate Security management and London Command Centre (LCC) in support of local and wider regional operations
