The predicted salary is between 37800 - 46200 Β£ per year.
- Management Accounting & Month-End Reporting β Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, while completing month-end activities such as journals, accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition.
- Financial Analysis & Forecasting β Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year results, providing clear commentary on variances, risks, opportunities and business trends.
- Business Partnering & Commercial Support β Work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions and support effective decision-making and budget management.
- Project Performance & Cost Control β Monitor project, contract and departmental performance, identifying margin improvements, cost-saving opportunities, process efficiencies and profitability enhancements.
- Financial Governance & Continuous Improvement β Maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with accounting standards, support audits, improve reporting processes and assist with the successful transition of ESM into Major Projects.
What we are looking for
- Qualified Accountant β Newly qualified or qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Financial Control & Compliance β Strong understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, accounting principles, financial controls, CIS, VAT and tax compliance requirements.
- Analysis & Reporting Skills β Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities, with experience analysing large datasets and turning financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Stakeholder & Commercial Awareness β Confident communicator able to influence and support non-finance stakeholders, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, opportunities and improvements.
- Industry & Systems Experience β Experience in working capital and cash flow forecasting, with project accounting or construction industry experience advantageous and SAP knowledge desirable.
