Days: 4 on 4 off, 05:00 - 17:00

Main Duties:

  • Proactively demonstrate and work to the Company's values of Excel, Challenge and Inspire.
  • Supervisor experience within the security industry is essential.
  • Full manual clean driver's licence required and held for more than one year.
  • Over the age of 21 for insurance purposes.
  • Customer care: Ensure all contractual commitments are honoured and if there is any failure, be the first to advise the site security operations manager. Any complaints must be logged in accordance with the quality system and remedied in a timely and effective manner.
  • Training and development: In conjunction with the security site manager, monitor security officer's performance, conduct annual appraisals in line with company policy, and encourage their personal development.
  • Liaise with the security manager/operations manager to ensure that all contractual training requirements are met and that all certificates are renewed within the correct time frame.
  • Ensure that all security officers are aware of the latest training initiatives and are given the opportunity for both personal development and to improve their skill base.
  • Ensuring team is constantly trained to meet leading industry practices.
  • Managerial/work performance: Lead in implementing customer corporate policies, manage security and emergency incidents, ensure the correct and appropriate operation of security systems and procedures.
  • Take ownership of the security operation for the customer, constantly assessing risk and taking appropriate measures to deal with that risk.
  • Manage the staff on site to ensure that the operational delivery of the service is maintained to the highest agreed standard and to the complete satisfaction of the client.
  • Regularly inspect all administrative, health and safety, and quality procedures and endorse them.
  • Provide assistance to all staff who have welfare requirements and assist in the vetting process to ensure that all security officers assigned comply with BS7858.
  • Take detailed notes of all disciplinary/capability actions taken against employees, ensuring that all such matters are first referred to the operations manager.
  • Communication: Support the organisation as required by the operations manager, provide assurance of a professional and high-quality security operation.
  • Develop and manage security-related projects and initiatives in collaboration with key customer management.
  • Liaise closely with the operations manager to ensure they are aware of any changing requirements of the contract.
  • Provide information on activity on site relevant to the team's performance, ongoing issues, and future development opportunities.
  • Quality: Maintain accurate and up-to-date assignment instructions for the site against which all security officers should be assessed.
  • Maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues, and clients.

Job Overview:

  • To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.
  • Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability.
  • To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties:

  • Operations: To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
  • Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarising oneself with any changes to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
  • Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
  • Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training:

  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
  • Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
  • Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
  • Ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety:

  • Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
  • Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
  • Ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
  • Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
