We're looking for a National Account Director to lead and grow some of Mitie Waste's most strategic, high-value clients. This is a senior role combining commercial leadership, relationship management and operational delivery to drive long‑term success.

The Role

  • Be the senior point of contact for key national accounts, responsible for driving account growth, retention and profitability.
  • Lead commercial strategy and complex negotiations.
  • Align internal teams to deliver a seamless, high‑quality service.
  • Identify and deliver new opportunities within existing accounts.

You’ll also provide leadership to a team of Account Managers, ensuring strong performance, forecasting and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop strategic national accounts, building strong senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Define and deliver account strategies aligned to revenue and growth targets.
  • Lead commercial negotiations (pricing, contracts, service agreements).
  • Identify growth opportunities through innovation and service improvement.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for client issues, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver consistent service across multiple sites.
  • Lead, coach and manage account teams to achieve high performance.
