Job objectives and responsibilities:

  • Must be able to achieve SC clearance (5-year UK residency a minimum).
  • Willing to travel within a 30 miles radius.
  • Must be flexible to work days and nights, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Combination of 8 - 12 hours shifts dependant on the site requirement.

Main duties:

  • Ensure all incidents are logged and directed effectively through to completion.
  • Effectively communicate business issues to the Operations Manager and/or relevant departments.
  • Maintain the standards of the site for access/egress and visitor regulation.
  • Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained at all times.
  • Complete timely and accurate reports on all security activities within the site and present to the Security Management team.
  • To be fully conversant with the methods of working of all equipment.
  • Ensure that you have signed the Assignment Instructions.
  • Ensure that complete and updated Assignment Instructions are being followed.
  • Where site or procedure instructions are not being followed, ensure that corrective actions are raised with the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure that all contractual requirements are properly fulfilled and if there is an issue or concern inform the Manager.
  • Handle all day to day enquiries which arise from whatever source in respect of the daily operation of the security of the site and report to the Manager.
  • Any other reasonable request from management or client.
  • To have an awareness of key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Site Open and Lock Down procedure.
  • Completion and checking of all accident and Health and Safety reports.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered and prioritise activity and ongoing communication.
  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence - Door Supervisor mandatory, CCTV preferable.
  • Must be able to achieve SC clearance (5-year UK residency a minimum).
  • Full 5-year checkable history.
  • Good understanding of security requirements/functions.
  • Excellent oral communicator.
  • Strong written skills for reports, incidents and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise with security officers, managers and directors.
  • Have the ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • To share knowledge and support team members, to make the best use of their capabilities.

Health and Safety responsibilities:

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Information Security:

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's and Clients information security procedures in all activities.
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents.
