ROLE: Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer

HOURS: Core working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, with a certain degree of flexibility depending on individual circumstances.

LOCATION: Field-based mobile position covering the Highlands and Islands on the Scottish Government contract. Sites covered from Inverness to Thurso and surrounding areas.

We're looking for a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer who can turn their hand to a number of tasks in a timely manner, working across the Highlands and Islands on the Scottish Government contract with a valued client as part of a new team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) services to operational assets, delivering a multi-skilled maintenance service across basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building fabric disciplines, carrying out repairs as required.
  • Liaise with contractors and external suppliers, communicate technical issues effectively, maintain equipment using sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and provide technical support to projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, in accordance with current legislation, company policies and procedures, whilst maximising plant and equipment availability through continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure KPI and SLA targets are achieved, maintain tools and equipment to the required standards, complete accurate reporting, RAMS and associated documentation, and provide regular communication on work activities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, support business continuity, proactively identify maintenance and Health & Safety issues, and provide flexible cover for operational requirements as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working within commercial properties and installations, with a sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation, statutory compliance, and maintenance best practice.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads effectively, maintain accurate records using worksheets and computer-based systems, and deliver excellent customer service to building occupants.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with strong self-motivation, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with the ability to travel across the Highlands and Islands, maintaining safe working practices and compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to complete work correctly the first time within agreed timescales whilst presenting a professional appearance and using company-issued PPE and uniform appropriately.
