We are looking for a Head of Finance Transformation to lead and represent Finance across a portfolio of high-impact strategic programmes. This role will play a critical part in delivering successful transformation across key initiatives, including:

  • IFS implementation (finance and billing processes)
  • Integration of Mitie Compliance into the wider Marlowe Environmental Services (MES) business
  • Legal entity reduction
  • SAP implementation and replacement of Sage and Xero systems

You will work closely with core Finance teams to ensure smooth month-end processes, maintaining accuracy in invoicing and financial reporting throughout periods of transition. As the business continues to grow, the programme portfolio will evolve, including further integrations and acquisitions. You will be seen as the key Finance lead across transformation projects, driving quality, consistency and improved financial outcomes across the MES group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead programme governance across multiple workstreams, managing dependencies, risks, issues and stakeholder communications
  • Drive and deliver the Legal Entity Reduction programme to simplify structures and improve operational efficiency
  • Lead the integration of Mitie Compliance Services (MCS) Finance into MES
  • Oversee the successful implementation of SAP across MES and wider teams
  • Ensure processes are clearly designed, documented and embedded
  • Develop and implement policies that provide clarity and direction
  • Support and engage Finance teams through change, ensuring strong communication and motivation
  • Work closely with outsourced Finance teams and SAP integration partners to ensure successful delivery
  • Monitor performance, identify issues and implement corrective actions
  • Report on key metrics, progress and continuous improvements
  • Prepare and review standard operating procedures for financial processes
  • Identify and deliver efficiencies across finance and billing operations
  • Establish robust UAT frameworks and ensure effective end-to-end training
  • Review financial performance reporting and refine operations to align with business goals
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and standard operating procedures

  • Proven experience in a similar finance transformation or programme role
  • Proven experience leading major finance system implementations (ideally SAP or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and improve team performance
  • Strong process mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Experience implementing new procedures and scalable processes
  • Ability to manage and influence diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of financial transactions and their impact on month-end reporting
