As a General Maintenance Operative, you will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance within a secure custodial environment at HMP Millsike.
Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
The role involves:
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance and monitoring of all prison fabric within scope.
- Conducting tasks in compliance with Company Safety Policy, Procedures, relevant Codes of Practice, NR, and Statutory Regulations.
- Ensuring adherence to the Company's and Clients' Permit to Work Systems.
- Liaising with engineers and subcontractors.
- Developing a detailed knowledge and understanding of site engineering services.
- Supporting best working practices.
- Completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- Coordinating connections to existing plant/systems.
- Using and maintaining O&M Manuals and quality procedures.
Qualifications required:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- IOSH or equivalent.
- C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2 and 3.
- NVQ Level 3 (multi-skilled engineering).
- C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent.
- HVAC or gas equivalent.
- C&G 2391/2 18th Edition IEE regulations.
Previous relevant experience providing electrical maintenance services in a large, complex environment is essential. Basic to intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with experience updating central data systems are also required.
