Job Overview
Mechanical Team Leader within a Hard services team as a first point of contact for client and team employees, taking a proactive approach to customer care and dealing with day-to-day issues including delivery, quality, health & safety.
Main Duties
- Proactively deal with all client queries providing feedback and escalation where appropriate.
- Ensure all planned and reactive works are scheduled, planned, delivered and updated on Archibus in line with contract requirements and customer expectations.
- Initiate stakeholder discussions to identify and agree appropriate safe system of work to progress tasks, promptly preparing SSOW documentation to undertake works in line with legislative, client and MITIE requirements.
- Ensure adequate pre job briefs, supervision arrangements, workface inspections, quality assurance and LFE is completed through team operations.
- Take a proactive approach to WIP including progress updates, issue resolution, forecasting, escalation and completion.
- Work with the planning team to schedule all planned and reactive tasks, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources to deliver optimum performance.
- To report all incidents, accidents and near misses including non‑compliant or unsafe conditions at the earliest opportunity.
- Deliver regular team briefs and consult with the workforce to proactively engage, address and escalate issues.
- To undertake workforce audits and assurance on the workface.
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required by the business.
- To coach, mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential including support in achieving Sellafield nominations.
- To assist management and supervisor with all reasonable requests and undertake additional duties in line with capabilities.
Experience
- Must have NVQ Level 3 in mechanical maintenance and install or equivalent.
- Must have ability to liaise with client representatives and management.
- Be able to organise work and liaise with operational teams.
- Good general knowledge of facilities services, operational practices.
- Sound understanding of nuclear site procedures and practices.
- Previous experience of team leader or supervision roles would be advantageous.
Additional Skills
- IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
- Full clean driving license.
- Co‑ordination and facilitation skills are essential.
- Good time management skills.
- Computer literacy is desirable.
