We're looking for a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor who will lead and coordinate grounds maintenance operations across MOD Corsham, ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant, presentable, and sustainable throughout the year.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise day-to-day grounds maintenance activities, including grass cutting, hedge and shrub maintenance, planting, weed control, winter maintenance, and landscaping works.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of grounds operatives, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and customer service.
- Oversee contractors and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits, MOD site requirements, and operational standards.
- Ensure contractual KPIs, quality standards, inspections, audits, and compliance requirements are consistently achieved and accurately documented.
- Support biodiversity, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives while maintaining safe and efficient grounds operations.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
- Proven experience supervising grounds maintenance or landscaping teams within large, complex, or highly regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including RAMS, COSHH, PUWER, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent), First Aid certification, and a valid UK Driving Licence.
- Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and small plant, including mowers, strimmers, and similar machinery.
- Excellent planning, communication, stakeholder management, and digital reporting skills.
