We're recruiting for an experienced and proactive Technical Facilities Manager to take accountability for the safe, compliant, and effective operation of assets, systems, and activities within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role is critical in ensuring all risks are identified, assessed, and controlled, maintaining legal compliance and alignment with AstraZeneca standards. You will provide governance, oversight, and assurance across operations, ensuring assets remain fit for purpose while embedding a strong safety-first culture.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Take full accountability for the safe operation of assets, systems, and activities, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, permits, and AstraZeneca standards.
  • Identify major hazards and ensure effective risk assessments and control measures are in place and actively managed.
  • Provide governance and assurance through inspections, audits, and monitoring activities.
  • Allocate appropriate resources, ensuring sufficient competent personnel, time, and tools are available.
  • Ensure individuals carrying out safety-critical work are trained, competent, and authorised.
  • Oversee maintenance and asset integrity, ensuring systems and protective measures are regularly inspected, tested, and maintained.
  • Manage change processes to ensure all operational or technical changes are reviewed and implemented safely.
  • Ensure effective emergency preparedness, including response plans, training, and drills.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions, embedding learning across teams.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, procedures, and compliance records.
  • Intervene, stop work, or escalate issues where risks are not adequately controlled.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a Duty Holder or Senior management role.
  • Experience working within a high-risk / major hazard environment.
  • Knowledge of legal, statutory, and corporate compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing risk assessments, audits, and inspection programmes.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership for safety and operational outcomes.
  • Ability to define responsibilities clearly and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate confidently within high-risk, highly regulated environments.
