Position Overview
We are looking for a full-time, versatile, and enthusiastic Fitness Instructor, responsible for the safe operation of the Fitness Centre and able to deliver creative and professional fitness programmes to suit the fitness levels of military and civilian personnel.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide fitness programmes, assessments and inductions for military and civilian personnel.
- Assist with daily cleaning requirements of the fitness equipment as well as ensuring that the gym equipment is maintained to a first-class condition.
- Instruct fitness classes and assist with military fitness testing.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as required; this could include cover for other Mitie team members and other building management and access control duties.
- Operate in a friendly manner and actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law.
What we are looking for
- A reliable, trustworthy, competent, and physically fit person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Confident, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative, highly responsive to company and customer requirements.
- Pro-active and consistent with the ability to adapt quickly to the different needs of the business.
- A professional qualification in fitness, Level 2 in Fitness Instruction at minimum.
- Certificate in Exercise to Music desirable.
- First aid qualification desirable (training can be provided).
- Coaching skills desirable.
- Ability to teach some of the following classes: Circuit training, Spinning, Boxercise and Kettlebells.
- Capability to multi-task when and where needed, as required by the business.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities.
- Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships.
- Basic IT literacy.
Additional Information
- MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required.
- To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application.
- All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
- Proof of right to work in UK essential.
- The Contract operates a flexible output during the overarching service hours of Mon to Fri.
