Job Overview

Monday - Friday 08:30-17:00, 37.5 hours a week in an office environment. To provide personnel support to all at MoD Corsham, including Lodger Units and their associated communities. In particular, the Unit is to provide the following services: Personnel Management, Training, Security, Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy and any other duties which may reasonably be expected to ensure the efficient running of JSAU.

Main Duties

  • SJAR Clerk - Responsible to the SNCO Discipline & Allowances for the following specific duties:
    • Raising of and despatch of all SJARs (incl NSARs) in accordance with stipulated reporting dates or upon receipt of ad-hoc requests.
    • Insert Roles and Responsibilities onto JPA as required and hasten outstanding ones from subjects as required.
    • Maintenance and updating of the SJAR register.
    • Quality Assurance checks of ARs prior to finalisation in accordance with extant regulations.
    • The collation and checking of the monthly returns of outstanding ARs.
    • Prompt and robust hastening of all outstanding ARs as required.
    • Carry out action on SJAR management check reports as required.
    • When required cover the responsibilities of the OJAR Clerk.
  • CEA Clerk - Responsible to the SNCO Discipline & Allowances for the following specific duties:
    • Maintain and update a CEA register of all claimants parented by Mil Admin.
    • Ensure all applications for CEA are checked for accuracy and include all necessary supporting documentation (school bills, fees, etc) prior to processing.
    • Ensure all claimants have a valid and current CEA Entitlement Certificate prior to processing.
    • All discrepancies or incomplete claims are to be referred to SNCO Allowances or above.
    • No such claims are to be actioned without prior approval.
    • Hasten all outstanding claims in time to meet the published CEA claim windows.
    • Report any outstanding claims to SNCO Allowances that are likely to or have missed the claim windows.
    • Review, update and maintain accurate unit records of all claimants supporting paperwork.
    • Act as authoriser for all School Children Visits claims.
    • Ensure claimants are eligible and the appropriate Parental Contribution is applied.
  • Unit Expense Auditor Clerk - Responsible to the SNCO Discipline & Allowances for the following specific duties:
    • Notifying selected personnel that the JPA system has identified their claim(s) for audit.
    • Ensuring that the audit is carried out in the allotted time frame and taking any hastening action as required.
    • Carry out a full check of receipts and evidence in support of any claim selected for audit, including necessary insurance checks in support of MMA.
    • Taking recovery action on any overpayment that is discovered during the audit.
    • Filing the completed audits for future reference (Must be retained for 6 years).
    • Maintenance and updating of the Audit Register.
    • Maintenance and updating of the JPA Authorisation Required List (ARL) in accordance with JSP 752 Annex A to Section 1 Chapter 1 para 3, raising Form JPA F006 as required.
    • Where necessary, void claim(s) for personnel on long OOA commitments, death or in exceptional circumstances, as directed by written authority from station management.
    • Refer anomalies or fraud to higher authority for possible disciplinary action.
    • Carry out action on management check reports (including the monthly IDEA report received from HQ Air Command) as required.
