The role:

We're recruiting a Security Team Leader to oversee a team of Protection Officers supporting a prestigious client within the Aviation & Manufacturing sector. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering a safe, secure and resilient manufacturing environment while maintaining exceptional service standards. You'll lead by example, manage day-to-day operations, and play a key role in incident response, team performance and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the on-site security team, ensuring effective resourcing and absence management.
  • Maintain agreed service levels and escalate risks or issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Build strong working relationships with the client and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee security operations including access control, patrols, control room and CCTV activity.
  • Take a leadership role during security, safety and emergency incidents.
  • Monitor officer performance, addressing low-level issues in line with company processes.
  • Manage training requirements and compliance records for the team.
  • Support employment relations matters on site as required.
  • Ensure all site instructions, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Promote Mitie's values, professionalism and a strong safety culture.

Training & development:

You'll complete mandatory and specialist training including: First Aid (FREC 3), fire safety, aviation security, control room and CCTV operations, spill response and emergency procedures.

Health & safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all company and client H&S policies.
  • Report hazards, incidents and equipment defects promptly.
  • Promote safe working practices and correct use of PPE.

Person specification:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a security leadership or supervisory role.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
  • Right to work in the UK with 5-year checkable background.
  • British nationality or 5 years UK residency (CTC clearance requirement).
  • Calm, professional and effective under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Aviation security experience.
  • Fire safety experience.
  • First Aid qualification (FREC 3 or willingness to obtain).
