The Shift Technician will provide first-line maintenance and engineering support across the MSD maintenance contract portfolio. The role involves performing planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and quoted works in line with service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. The technician will also supervise and support subcontractors where required, maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes, and contribute to a safe, high-quality working environment.

Main Duties:

  • Escalate issues where specialist intervention is required.
  • Monitor and maintain plant performance and service continuity, notifying relevant stakeholders of any required downtime.
  • Research and source spare parts or alternative replacements, ensuring suitability and compliance with standards.
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments before commencing tasks and escalate safety concerns to the line manager.
  • Maintain all plant rooms, tools, and working areas in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
  • Ensure all hazardous materials are stored safely and in compliance with COSHH regulations.
  • Support the Service Desk with spares and consumables management, ensuring adequate stock levels for planned and reactive tasks.
  • Participate in site surveys, audits, and asset reviews as required.
  • Uphold company values and maintain professionalism, quality, and efficiency in all activities.
  • Be available for shift work and overtime as required by the business.
