Based at Sellafield, this role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including the option of a 9-day fortnight working pattern. The successful candidate will support Mitie Hard Services, projects, and subcontractors in the organisation, planning, and safe delivery of works across the site. The role includes a strong focus on coordination, safe systems of work, and effective task supervision to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed scoping activities to define task requirements, methodology, and delivery approach.
  • Facilitate and support stakeholder engagement to ensure effective consultation with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors.
  • Select and agree appropriate Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), ensuring controls are proportionate to task risk.
  • Identify, engage, and coordinate enabling services for third-party support, including scaffolding, health physics monitoring, asbestos surveys, and specialist contractors.
  • Compile comprehensive and compliant work packs, including risk assessments, method statements, permits, isolations, drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure that all risk assessments are suitable and sufficient, clearly identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
  • Define competency requirements for tasks and ensure appropriately qualified personnel are allocated.
  • Provide and coordinate appropriate levels of task supervision, ensuring that:
    • Supervision responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned.
    • Works are executed in accordance with approved SSoW and site procedures.
    • Safety, quality, and compliance standards are maintained throughout task delivery.
  • Liaise with operational teams to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure timely and safe completion of works.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all Safe System of Work documentation is archived in line with document control procedures.

Person Specification

  • Relevant experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines is desirable.
  • Proven ability to engage professionally with client representatives, management, and operational teams.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to plan and deliver work effectively.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, facilities management, and operational practices.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, with knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems highly advantageous.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or higher) is desirable, though training can be provided.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Good time management and IT literacy skills.
