We're looking for a Building Services Engineer – Electrical Bias who will provide high-quality electrical and building services support across the HMRC estate in Portsmouth.Role Responsibilities:• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on electrical systems, including lighting, distribution boards, emergency lighting and small power.• Carry out fault-finding, testing, inspection and repairs to electrical infrastructure in accordance with current regulations.• Support general building services operations, assisting with mechanical or fabric tasks when required.• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards, contractual SLAs and KPIs.• Complete job reports, asset updates and maintenance documentation accurately and within required timescales.• Communicate effectively with clients and site teams to minimise disruption to HMRC operations.• Monitor building performance and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and system improvements.• Participate in a 1-in-3 on-call rota, with a company pool vehicle provided.Required Qualifications:Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.• Level 3 Electrical Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.• Experience within building services maintenance in commercial or public-sector environments.• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills across electrical systems.• Ability to work independently within a busy and operationally sensitive environment.• Capability to obtain and maintain HMRC Security Clearance (mandatory).Desirable Qualifications:• Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship.• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.• LV/HV Authorised Person tickets or willingness to undertake training following site familiarisation.What's in it for you?• A key role supporting essential HMRC operations within a stable, long-term contract.• Training, development and ongoing upskilling through Mitie's award-winning programmes.• Access to a range of employee benefits including pension, life assurance, wellbeing support and Mitie discounts.• Tools, uniform, PPE and all relevant equipment provided.• A collaborative team environment with excellent opportunities for career progression. xsabvtc There's a place for you at Mitie, join us today!Ref:105706 Posaddress2Cosham Location:Portsmouth Employment:Full time Role Classification:1
