In this role you will coordinate safety-focused delivery across Sellafield, supporting Mitie Hard Services, projects, and subcontractors. You will plan tasks, define Safe Systems of Work, and supervise execution to ensure compliance and excellence. You’ll engage clients and teams to align on risk, methods, and permits, shaping safe, efficient work at site scale. This role offers a 9-day fortnight option and a chance to impact site safety culture and delivery performance.

Responsibilities
- Perform detailed scoping to define task requirements, methodology, and delivery approach
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors
- Select and agree Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) proportional to task risk
- Coordinate enabling services and third-party support (scaffolding, health physics monitoring, asbestos surveys, specialist contractors)
- Prepare compliant work packs with risk assessments, method statements, permits, isolations, drawings, and supporting docs
- Ensure risk assessments identify hazards and implement controls
- Define competency requirements and allocate suitably qualified personnel
- Provide task supervision aligned with approved SSoW and site procedures, maintaining safety, quality and compliance
- Liaise with operations to monitor progress and ensure timely, safe completion
- Maintain records and archive SSoW documentation per controls procedures
Key requirements
- Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines (desirable)
- Ability to engage professionally with clients, management, and operations
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Understanding of health and safety legislation, facilities management, and operational practices
- Experience in risk assessments and method statements; knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems (advantageous)
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or higher) desirable, with training available
- Full, clean UK driving licence
