Overview
As Head of Technical Infrastructure & Asset Management, you will lead technical standards, compliance and asset strategy across a large property portfolio. You’ll drive engineering governance, audits and competency development, working with stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and innovative services. You will own asset information integrity, lifecycle planning and capital investment planning, shaping long-term portfolio decisions. This role offers strategic influence, cross-functional leadership and the opportunity to elevate technical excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical engineering standards, governance and compliance frameworks
- Oversee audits, inspections, and assurance programmes to maintain audit-ready sites
- Act as engineering SME for business development, investigations, incident management and client engagement
- Lead engineering competency, training, and apprenticeship initiatives
- Govern Authorised Persons and technical registrations across HV, LV, Water, Fire, etc.
- Build and coach a network of technical professionals; provide guidance and leadership
- Identify, manage and mitigate technical and engineering risks across the portfolio
- Maintain relationships with industry bodies, accreditation organisations and technical partners
- Own asset management strategy, ensuring asset data integrity and informing investment decisions
- Manage asset audit programme and asset database; ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Provide reporting and insights; use asset information to shape maintenance and investment strategies
- Support 10-year capital investment programmes and align with capital planning
- Oversee hard services budget, resource planning and succession planning
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and efficiency
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in engineering leadership, compliance or asset management
- Strong knowledge of statutory, regulatory and industry compliance requirements
- Experience developing and managing governance, audit and assurance programmes
- Understanding of building services engineering and critical engineering disciplines
- Proven leadership of technical teams and talent development
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders and clients
- Experience producing asset management strategies, lifecycle plans and capital investment programmes
- Commercial awareness including budget management and financial accountability
