Overview
In this role you will lead the waste service delivery for the Manchester Airports contract, shaping a sustainability strategy with recycling solutions and a culture of continuous improvement. You will collaborate with airport stakeholders and site facilities to align waste, energy and water initiatives with environmental objectives. You’ll manage a waste team, analyse trends, and coordinate with finance to minimise WIP. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role focused on delivering measurable sustainability outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead waste service delivery for the contract and act as primary client contact
- Collaborate with Manchester Airport stakeholders to improve waste and recycling performance
- Support waste data analysis and provide feedback on trends
- Coordinate with Mitie Waste Finance to minimise debt and WIP
- Line-manage the on-site waste team
- Ensure application of waste and recycling compliance across operations
