Overview
In this Finance Business Partner role, you will support the JPECCS contract across Scotland by delivering financial insight, challenge, and support to drive performance and meet contractual financial objectives. You’ll work closely with operations leaders and the Contract Director to enable informed decision-making and robust financial reporting. The role blends partnership, governance, and finance to underpin responsible delivery of a high-profile public sector contract. You will have a clear impact on budget, forecasts, and financial controls, contributing to Mitie’s public services mission.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leaders and budget holders to provide high-quality financial information for decision making
- Deliver timely financial reporting including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage month-end close and contract-specific reporting in line with group timetables
- Maintain Risks and Opportunities log for IRC contracts and monitor non-current debt visibility
- Ensure accurate client billing with pre-approved charges and timely invoicing
- Support process improvements with Wipro/operational teams and site-level travel for budgeting
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasts with operational managers
- Support audits and respond to senior management ad hoc financial analyses
- Ensure adherence to Mitie Group financial governance policies and collaborate with the wider finance team
Key requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Knowledge of finance and operational systems (SAP, TM1, FDW)
- Experience partnering with operational management to improve financial ownership
- High integrity and governance focus
- Ability to implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls
