We're looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead engineering services across University Hospital Coventry, one of the UK's largest and most complex healthcare environments.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the hospital's engineering infrastructure remains safe, compliant and effective, supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care every day.
Working closely with the Head of Estates and wider leadership team, you'll oversee engineering service delivery across mechanical, electrical and building fabric assets, while driving continuous improvement, compliance and operational performance.
What you'll be doing Leading engineering services across a large acute healthcare estate.
Managing specialist contractors and engineering partners.
Ensuring compliance with healthcare, statutory and contractual requirements.
Supporting planned maintenance, lifecycle programmes and capital projects.
Driving service improvement and engineering best practice.
Building strong relationships with client stakeholders and operational teams.
Supporting the development of engineering teams and future service planning.
What we're looking for Strong experience leading Hard FM engineering services within healthcare, NHS or PFI environments.
Knowledge of HTMs, HBNs and healthcare compliance requirements.
Experience managing engineering contracts and supply chain partners.
Understanding of critical healthcare systems, including electrical infrastructure, medical gases and ventilation.
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Candidates from both mechanical and electrical backgrounds will be considered, although an electrical bias would be advantageous.
