Overview
In this role you will lead the delivery of mechanical and hard services across the County Hall complex, ensuring high safety standards and compliant, efficient operations. You will manage a team of engineers and oversee maintenance activities to meet contractual KPIs. You will act as an Authorised Person for key safety areas, ensuring proper risk controls and safe work practices. You will monitor performance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers to achieve high performance, compliance, and a strong safety culture.
- Oversee planned preventive maintenance, reactive works, and small projects to meet contractual KPIs and statutory compliance.
- Act as Authorised Person for Low Voltage, Working at Height, and Hot Works; ensure SSOW, RAMS, and permit processes are followed.
- Proactively manage health and safety, site standards, asset performance, and contractor activities including audits, tool checks, and PPE compliance.
- Monitor performance via systems and reporting (e.g., WPLAN, KPIs); resolve issues, drive continuous improvement, and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Key requirements
- Relevant technical qualification in mechanical or building services engineering
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification with strong compliance and risk management knowledge
