To perform the role of Porter & Handyman.
Main Duties:
- The role will be split between portering duties and assisting with general handyman tasks.
- Assist with the delivery and physical set‑up/taking down of all furniture and equipment for all events and office moves, as well as assisting with general site maintenance duties.
- Assist in keeping the site clean and tidy, including collection and delivery of waste, goods and items from offices and the postroom.
- Willingness to engage in litter picking, road sweeping and office cleaning.
- Assist engineers in their duties where required.
- Ensure waste streams are segregated, handled, stored and disposed in line with site and collection contractor requirements.
- Assist with using various cleaning equipment to clean specialist buildings while wearing full PPE, including mask, gloves and coverall.
- Observe local security measures per client policies, actively participate in training and staff development, attend team meetings and/or meetings as requested by management or client, and be flexible with work patterns, systems and location to maintain client standards and MITIE employee standards.
- Adhere to any reasonable management requests from line manager or client contact.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a similar role or environment.
- Fit and healthy with the ability to lift items up to 25kg.
- Ability to work on a ladder up to 8ft.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekend work on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Experience in lifting and handling furniture and equipment; customer service oriented and team player.
- Energised attitude, strong communication skills, and always well groomed.
- Hands‑on and ready to learn new tasks.
- Willingness to go through the police clearance process.
