We are looking for a Waste Operative to join the Waste and Cleaning team to undertake the collection, movement, sorting, processing and dispatch of waste and other materials, including compaction of waste and cardboard.
Responsibilities:
- Work and stay compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
- Monitor equipment performance and support the On‑Site Waste Coordinator.
- Follow PPE guidance and meet tight deadlines.
- Carry out strenuous tasks such as lifting and moving heavy objects.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator license/certification and current Counterbalance FLT license.
- Previous experience in waste management or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time‑management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Good level of communicative English.
- Pass a DBS Check and drug/alcohol screening test.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety training, waste management, environmental legislation, static balers and compactors is desirable.
