We are looking for a Waste Operative to join the Waste and Cleaning team to undertake the collection, movement, sorting, processing and dispatch of waste and other materials, including compaction of waste and cardboard.

Responsibilities:

  • Work and stay compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and support the On‑Site Waste Coordinator.
  • Follow PPE guidance and meet tight deadlines.
  • Carry out strenuous tasks such as lifting and moving heavy objects.

Requirements:

  • Valid forklift operator license/certification and current Counterbalance FLT license.
  • Previous experience in waste management or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time‑management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Good level of communicative English.
  • Pass a DBS Check and drug/alcohol screening test.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety training, waste management, environmental legislation, static balers and compactors is desirable.
