This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Fabricator / Welder and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth. There may be a requirement at times to attend sites across the UK, so you must have a valid and clean drivers licence.
Essential Competencies:
- The successful candidate must hold current CSCS.
- Have current driving licence.
- Have at least 2 years' experience of fabrication from interpreting drawings to final finished product working on bespoke and architectural metalwork.
- Have experience of working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
- Be able to weld (MIG and MMA for site).
- Be able to work on bespoke orders from drawing phase to end finished product without supervision.
- To be able to demonstrate estimating skills.
- To have a good working knowledge of relevant fabrication techniques and welding type/methods fabrication.
- To have a good working knowledge of sub-contracting procedures and practices.
Health & Safety Role & Responsibilities:
- Fabrication/welding of industrial structures - the successful candidate will be able to read and implement from technical drawings.
- Cutting, bending and welding of products.
- Finishing and quality inspection.
- Workshop Health & Safety.
- Ensure Quality Control and Test Inspection documents for the project are completed as per planned timescales.
- Following good practice in regards to material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
- Ensuring all necessary checks to ensure that installed services and equipment complies with the contract documentation.
- Recording and reporting all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
- Determine and assess the need for additional staff and resources.
- Report changes in project scope, identify project risks and assist in devising contingency plans.
- Adhere to best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Some travel may be required for installation phase.
