Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality healthcare to detainees in custody suites in collaboration with Police.
- Deliver round-the-clock coverage following the schedule agreed with our client.
- Work across the assigned region in Police Custody Suites and Force area as required.
- Manage diverse clinical situations effectively under pressure.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols when treating detainees.
- Adhere to fixed shift patterns: 06:45–19:00 day shifts and 18:45–07:00 night shifts; two-day shifts on, eight days off, two nights, four days off; rolling rota available two years in advance.
- Participate in full shifts and complete night shifts even when employed on a part-time basis.
- Maintain readiness to provide care in a variety of settings within the custodial environment.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with dual registration.
- Minimum of two years post-qualification (Band 5 minimum).
- Paramedic with at least two years post-qualification.
- At least two years of patient-facing clinical experience in settings such as A&E, General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service.
- Valid driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK: British passport or Indefinite Leave to Remain for three years with no absences longer than three months.
- Fit to work (RTW).
- All candidates will undergo Police vetting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary £20,500 per year.
- £500 bonus upon completion of 12 months service.
- Average estimated overtime £3,500 per annum.
- NMC and HCPC registration fees paid.
- Part-time role with fixed shift working; full shifts and night shifts required.
