We are seeking an experienced administrative coordinator to support a key strategic initiative at HMP Millsike around Visa Sponsorship Compliance.
This role sits at the centre of a newly introduced and highly regulated area of work, ensuring that all visa sponsorship activity is managed in full compliance with Home Office requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to workforce stability in a complex operational environment, while developing specialist expertise in regulatory compliance and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records for all sponsored employees, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
- Monitor visa expiry dates and support timely case management.
- Conduct regular compliance checks (e. g. attendance, role changes, absence monitoring).
- Support reporting requirements and ensure any changes are escalated within required timeframes.
- Manage data and produce reports for governance meetings and internal oversight.
- Support audit and assurance activity, including tracking and resolving compliance issues.
- Work as part of the onsite People Support team, liaising with wider Mitie HR teams, operational managers and external partners (e. g. legal partners).
- Support the development of tracking tools and administrative systems.
- Assist recruitment and onboarding of new starters.
About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail‑focused and comfortable working in a regulated environment.
This is a site‑based role, based at HMP Millsike working Monday to Friday.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in an administrative or HR support role.
- Strong IT skills (particularly Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage accurate records.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work at pace to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Attain Enhanced Level 1 Ministry of Justice Vetting Clearance and Enhanced DBS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in compliance, governance or regulatory environments.
- Experience working with sensitive or confidential data.
- Knowledge of visa sponsorship or immigration processes (training will be provided).
