Mobile Security Supervisor in Sheffield

Clean UK driving licence required.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities

The position of Mobile Area Supervisor will support the business by ensuring the effective delivery of security operations across multiple sites. You will conduct regular mobile patrols at designated sites, respond promptly to incidents and ensure they are logged and accurately documented. You will be a visible presence to deter potential threats, addressing security risks and suspicious activity, and you will always carry out your role with sensitivity and respect towards cultural and religious practices.

Main Duties

• Be aware of and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Account Lead and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies (SIA).
• Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties as defined by role specifications.
• Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
• Induct and train staff, ensuring site officers are trained and compliant, testing knowledge and ability.
• Ensure patrols are carried out as stipulated within the Assignment Instructions.
• Complete site visits as required.
• Support sites with investigations and reports.
• Escalate incidents/issues where required.
• Conduct site compliance audits.
• Complete daily logs and reports, vehicle inspections.

Training

• Complete all required competency training, MITIE and TMC training as and when required.
• Undertake additional training as directed by the Line Manager to ensure continuous self‑development.

Requirements

• A full driving licence (vehicle will be provided).
• Strong experience within the security industry.
• SIA licence.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good report writing skills.
• Ability to learn various Mitie systems and implement that knowledge and training.
• Ability to maintain a friendly approach to staff while maintaining a managerial outlook.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and pursue professional development.
• Ensure licence renewal 16 weeks before expiry.
• Flexibility to travel outside of your designated area on an ad‑hoc basis, responding to critical areas as required.

Security and Health & Safety

• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations.
• Complete an accurate, detailed report as soon as possible after any incident.
• Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous security experience as a Lead Security Officer, Team Leader, Supervisor or site management is desirable.
• SIA Licence – Front line SG/DS/CP, CCTV desirable.
• EDBS required or the ability to obtain EDBS.
• Good literacy and communication skills; excellent verbal and written English.
• Computer and software literate.
• Reliability, self‑motivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
• The ability to solve problems, make decisions and prioritise.
• The ability to transfer self‑motivation to staff.
• The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels.
