As a Senior Design Engineer, you will lead and manage a team of Graduate Design Engineers and Design Engineers to deliver high-quality electrical and solar PV system designs within agreed timelines. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Review and approve design submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance; provide constructive feedback and technical guidance to enhance team knowledge.
  • Design: Complete designer risk assessments and ensure adherence to statutory and non‑statutory requirements; identify non‑compliance and safety issues, proposing effective solutions.
  • Solar PV Expertise: Understand and apply Solar PV design principles, including system sizing, inverter selection, and electrical connections; conduct site assessments to evaluate feasibility and optimise system performance; utilise CAD and PV design software (PV Syst/PV Sol) for detailed layouts.
  • Technical Documentation: Liaise with clients to ensure designs meet requirements and communicate technical concepts clearly; support stakeholder meetings, design forums, and workshops.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in training programmes and promote knowledge sharing within the team; document lessons learned and implement improvements in design processes; maintain accurate data within company tools and systems.
