We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Avonmouth, Bristol.
Please read carefully - Shift Pattern is fixed: Saturday, Sunday DAYS (07:00-19:00), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday NIGHT (19:00-07:00)
As an STL, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs.
You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain and provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Bristol.
- Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key value.
- Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
- Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
- Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
- Hold regular meetings to engage, motivate, and manage your team, developing and communicating the strategy. Communicate and follow Management lead.
- Be accountable for performance of the site.
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
- Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
Person Specification
- Literate and numerate is required with strong attention to detail and IT skills.
- Professional appearance and high personal standards. Previous team leadership is required.
- Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm under pressure with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
