The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

As deputy security manager you will support the daily security operations at Grain LNG, working Monday to Friday, 50 hours a week. You will support the security manager in the delivery of the 24/7 security operations at National Grid Grain LNG and assist in managing, utilising and operating all the security related systems required on the contract.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing operational guidance to security officers, ensuring that all the contract's security needs and responsibilities are met to the highest standards.
  • Liaising with and supporting all services on the contract with the aim of exceeding client expectations.
  • Responding, supporting and maintaining the highest standard of security and innovation on the contract.
  • Supporting the security teams and the Supervisors with their individual and team development.

Main Duties:

  • Take personal responsibility in your actions in relation to the client, colleagues and company reputation.
  • Engage staff throughout the 21-day shift pattern to ensure the highest standards of welfare and service.
  • Be fully conversant with the layout of the contract and aware of the current threats and challenges faced by the client; train, advise and update the security officers.
  • Take operational ownership of the rota, holidays and sickness tracking.
  • Respond to all aspects of the contract's emergency response, acting as command and control for incidents when necessary.
  • Drive and deliver training linked to operational needs.
  • Update and maintain the Assignment Instructions and develop emergency evacuation and major incident response procedures.
  • Patrol and support the security team using your own initiative and in response to the day-to-day running of the contract.
  • Be a visible and trusted leader and manager.
  • Support in the recruitment, induction and development of staff to the highest standards.
  • Maintain all written records and reporting in a correct and timely fashion.
  • Deliver and maintain training and individual records of all Security Officers.
  • Report any Health and Safety issues or other incidents following the correct escalation procedure.
  • Keep up to date with and comply with legislation relevant to the role.

Qualifications:

  • Security Guarding or Door Supervisor
  • CCTV
  • Able to get SC Clearance

  • Support Supervisors and Officers with personal development plans.
  • Drive and promote continuous learning and growth.
  • Drive teamwork and best practice.

Operational Support:

  • Support the Security Manager in 24/7 operations.
  • Provide operational guidance to Supervisors and Officers.
  • Patrol and support the team as needed.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and incidents.
  • Act as command and control during incidents when required.
  • Maintain up-to-date Assignment Instructions and emergency procedures.
  • Stand in for the Accounts Manager when required.

Leadership & Management:

  • Engage with staff across the 21-day shift pattern.
  • Be a visible and trusted leader.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and development of staff.
  • Lead by example and motivate the team.
  • Coach, counsel, and advise staff during duties.
  • Promote the “One Team” ethos.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Liaise with all services on the contract to exceed client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely written records and reports.
  • Report any health and safety issues or incidents.
  • Escalate failures or issues to the Security Account Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Implement client threat escalation procedures when necessary.
  • Ensure confidentiality and report any breaches.

Systems & Compliance:

  • Operate and manage all contract-related security systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures.
  • Report actual or suspected security incidents.
  • Use PPE and equipment correctly and report deficiencies.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and company policies.
