The next ITC course is due to start September 2026 – you will be expected to complete national Police Vetting prior to starting the role, and you will be paid for the days you attend the ITC course.

Are you interested in working within the criminal justice system? In a core role, support the police. We are looking for people who want to make a difference working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees – from supporting them during the time spent in custody, working with other agencies to support and help with detainees' rehabilitation. Previous experience working within the police, security, or armed forces would be beneficial, but full training will be provided.

Wages and Benefits

  • £14.00 Minimum
  • 2, 12-hour shifts per month
  • Holiday entitlement based on the hours you work

A little more about the role… The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. Whilst detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs. As well as escorting detainees, making recorded observations as per their individual plan, you'll work with colleagues and the Police to deal with any detainee that is a risk of harming themselves.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous Police/Security/forces experience would be beneficial
  • You'll just need a reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
  • Have valid British passport/settled status
  • All candidates are subject to police vetting checks
