As a Store Detective you operate across B&Q stores, using observation skills to prevent theft, support investigation and prosecution of criminals.
Main Duties
- Observe, deter and arrest those engaged in criminal activity.
- Liaise with police and crime‑prevention partners to stay up to date with crime trends.
- Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Attend court to provide evidence when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be able to drive – essential for the role.
- High‑level SIA licence – store detective experience highly desirable.
- Strong customer‑service background and experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Excellent observational skills, confident handling sensitive situations.
- Proactive, forward‑thinking and adaptable – thrive in a variable environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication (GCSE English or equivalent).
- Self‑motivated, positive personality, can‑do attitude, eagerness to learn.
