The role is based at HMP Millsike, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of the Residence function. It is a non‑operational role that supports the rehabilitation of prisoners by overseeing the quality and assurance of key work activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assurance for the overarching framework for key work activity, ensuring policy requirements and key performance indicators are met.
  • Coordinate the delivery and recording of key work sessions, maintaining high quality and compliance with programme standards.
  • Act as an administrative liaison between senior managers, prison custody officers and probation staff.
  • Maintain effective allocation and record‑keeping processes for key work caseloads (small caseloads of 6–10 prisoners).
  • Engage in regular contact with senior managers and officers to review quality and resolve issues.
  • Complete any mandatory training as required and demonstrate willingness to undertake further learning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience analysing complex information and developing systems that support data and analysis quality assurance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with general digital competence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access at practitioner level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships at all levels.
  • Capacity to manage uncertainty and respond flexibly to a changing environment.
  • Self‑motivation and experience in escalating challenges to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Background or experience in probation, prisons, psychology, administration or business assurance.
