The role is based at HMP Millsike, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of the Residence function. It is a non‑operational role that supports the rehabilitation of prisoners by overseeing the quality and assurance of key work activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide assurance for the overarching framework for key work activity, ensuring policy requirements and key performance indicators are met.
- Coordinate the delivery and recording of key work sessions, maintaining high quality and compliance with programme standards.
- Act as an administrative liaison between senior managers, prison custody officers and probation staff.
- Maintain effective allocation and record‑keeping processes for key work caseloads (small caseloads of 6–10 prisoners).
- Engage in regular contact with senior managers and officers to review quality and resolve issues.
- Complete any mandatory training as required and demonstrate willingness to undertake further learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience analysing complex information and developing systems that support data and analysis quality assurance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with general digital competence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access at practitioner level.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships at all levels.
- Capacity to manage uncertainty and respond flexibly to a changing environment.
- Self‑motivation and experience in escalating challenges to achieve successful outcomes.
- Background or experience in probation, prisons, psychology, administration or business assurance.
