The role is responsible for delivering both electrical and basic mechanical maintenance activities across site infrastructure and building services systems. The position requires strong electrical fault‑finding capability combined with practical mechanical experience to ensure plant and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational. The engineer will support both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, contributing to the efficient running of site services while maintaining compliance with statutory regulations and company safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair on plant, equipment and building services systems.
  • Support maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, fans, and associated systems.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests to ensure minimal disruption to site operations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of HVAC systems, motors, drives, and mechanical plant where required.
  • Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports using site systems or logbooks.
  • Support minor installations, upgrades, and improvement works across site infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, contractors, and site teams to maintain operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified electrician (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and maintenance experience.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical plant and equipment such as pumps, motors, belts, and bearings.
  • Experience working within facilities management, building services, or industrial environments.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
