Qualifications
- Valid forklift operator license/certification.
- Previous experience in waste management or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Current Counterbalance FLT license.
- Good level of communicative English.
- Detail conscious and excellent time‑management skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Pass a DBS check and drug/alcohol screening test prior to starting.
- Experience in Health & Safety training.
- Understanding of waste management and environmental legislation.
- Experience with static balers and compactors.
- Capability to carry out strenuous tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collect, move, sort, process and dispatch waste and other materials, including compaction of waste and cardboard.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and monitor equipment performance.
- Support the On‑Site Waste Coordinator to meet site objectives.
- Follow PPE guidance.
- Work outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
- Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
