We are currently seeking a Working Site Supervisor with a strong background in painting and general building maintenance to join our growing team. This is a hands‑on role, ideally suited to someone with experience running social housing sites, who is confident managing both people and projects on the ground.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and work alongside site operatives to deliver high‑quality painting and maintenance works
- Manage day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring works are completed on time and to programme
- Act as the primary point of contact for tenant liaison, ensuring clear communication and minimal disruption
- Ensure health & safety compliance, including maintaining site files and producing RAMS
- Conduct stock checks on materials and plant, maintaining accurate records
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure performance and standards are met
- Work closely with clients to manage KPI satisfaction and sign off completed works
- Ensure all works are carried out within the approved budget
- Ensure all painting & building materials are best utilised, kept clean and reused where practical to avoid unnecessary wastage
- Respond promptly to verbal, written and reactive tasks
- Carry out all painting / general building works to a high standard
- Provide support and input into projects as required
- Notify your line manager of any complaints / discrepancies
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in painting and general building maintenance
- Previous experience managing teams on social housing projects (preferred)
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
- Strong communication skills with tenants, clients, and team members
- Competency in site paperwork and compliance (RAMS, Site Files, etc.)
- Ability to work to performance KPIs and deliver high satisfaction scores
- Must hold a recognised qualification or have a minimum of two years checkable experience
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Self‑motivated and a team player
- Conversant with relevant legislation and compliance issues
- Good knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety
- Positive “Can‑Do” attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Capable of carrying out all duties associated with the role of painter/decorator
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
- Report any QHSE issues to your Line manager and/or via the divisional incident reporting system
