Responsibilities

  • Carry out legionella risk assessments manually and electronically.
  • Ensure that risk assessment paperwork and reports are completed correctly and returned.
  • Perform other operational work as required to meet contractual commitments.
  • Undertake assessments in accordance with:
    • Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 (Fourth edition)
    • Technical guidance documents of HSG274
    • British Standard code of practice for risk assessing BS8580-1 2019
    • Health Technical Memorandum 04-01: SafeWater in Healthcare Premises

Requirements

  • A qualification in a City and Guilds Risk Assessing course (or equivalent).
  • Experience in legionella risk assessing.
  • Wide knowledge of the above risk assessment guidelines.
  • Sufficient experience working in the water treatment industry.
  • A strong knowledge of health and safety.
  • Commercial awareness and good planning skills.
  • Strong IT literacy and ability to use a PDA to evidence compliance and productivity.
  • Ability to draw schematic diagrams.
  • A full UK driver’s licence with less than 6 points.
  • Capability to work as part of a team and under own supervision.
