Role Purpose
To provide a visible, proactive security presence across designated operational areas, supporting the reduction of crime and anti‑social behaviour while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for colleagues, visitors, and the wider community.
Responsibilities
- Operational Duties and Patrolling
- Liaise with the National Security Operations Room (NSOR) at the start, during, and end of shifts.
- Always maintain effective communication while on duty.
- Ensure all equipment is issued, used, and recorded correctly.
- Report incidents and activity in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work flexibly in line with operational requirements.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and provide reassurance.
- Conduct regular patrols across assigned areas.
- Adapt patrol activity based on operational needs and priorities.
- Provide support and escorts where required.
- Incident Response
- Respond to incidents in line with procedures.
- Escalate to emergency services where appropriate.
- Always prioritise personal and public safety.
- Complete reports following incidents.
- Security Support & Engagement
- Support wider security operations as required.
- Respond to management or NSOR requests.
- Engage professionally with colleagues, visitors, and members of the public.
