Control Room Administrator – Days & Nights (4 on / 4 off)

National Operations Centre, Northampton
£29,600 per year
4 on / 4 off – days & nights
Permanent, full-time

Our National Operations Centre runs 24/7, supporting thousands of people working across the UK.

When something goes wrong, when someone doesn't arrive on site, or when a lone worker misses a welfare check, you're the one who spots it, acts on it, and keeps people safe.

If you like fast-paced environments, problem-solving in real time, and being trusted to make decisions, this is the role for you.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • No two shifts are the same, but you'll be trusted with real responsibility, including:
  • Keeping a live eye on staffing and attendance across multiple sites
  • Managing the process when someone runs late, doesn't turn up, or needs urgent support
  • Monitoring welfare check calls and taking action if someone goes quiet
  • Responding to duress alerts and escalating incidents quickly and calmly
  • Handling calls and emails from sites and managers, often at the same time
  • Recording incidents and actions accurately so nothing is missed
  • Supporting smooth handovers so the next shift knows exactly what's going on

This is a role where attention to detail matters and people rely on you.

  • Who We're Looking For
  • You don't need to come from a control room background, but you do need to be:
  • Confident using multiple computer systems at once
  • Calm under pressure and able to think clearly when things get busy
  • Naturally organised, accurate, and switched on
  • Comfortable speaking to managers, clients, and site staff
  • Reliable and flexible enough to work both day and night shifts

If you've worked in operations, admin, call handling, logistics, or a live monitoring environment, you'll feel right at home.

  • What You'll Get
  • A proper 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (real work-life balance)
  • Full training — we don't throw you in at the deep end
  • A secure, professional working environment
  • A role that actually matters

Why Join Us?

Because this isn't just admin.
It's control, coordination, and calm decision-making in a role where your actions genuinely make a difference.

  • If you're looking for a job that keeps you engaged, challenged, and trusted —
