ROLE: Multi-Skilled Technician (Elec)

HOURS: Shift pattern (7am–3pm and 2pm–10pm)

LOCATION: Royal Victoria Infirmary & Freeman Hospital, Newcastle

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Elec) who will form part of a team providing a high level of maintenance support to the M&E Supervisor across hospital sites in Newcastle.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of M&E maintenance is completed in line with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with O&M manuals, best practice and relevant guidelines/legislation.
  • Respond to reactive calls in line with contractual time scales and complete job sheets, reports and documentation as required.
  • Carry out testing on emergency lighting systems (BS EN 5266), fixed wire testing (BS EN 7671), and lightning protection systems (BS EN 62305), rectifying faults where necessary.
  • Assist in supervising subcontractors, carry out isolations, and follow SSOW, policies and procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and experience in Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative, with excellent customer awareness and team working skills.
