Retail Security Officer – M&S Location: Milton Keynes Salary – £13.58 per hour Guaranteed 40+ hours per week Join M&S as a Security Officer where you will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues. You will be a visible presence in the store, helping customers feel supported while playing an important role in keeping the business safe and secure.
Responsibilities
- Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed.
- Provide customer service at the heart of the role, greeting customers as they start shopping, while supporting both customers and colleagues.
- Help keep our stores safe and secure by preventing loss, responding to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working.
- Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
- Stay calm under pressure, responding to challenging situations and supporting emergency procedures with professionalism and confidence.
- Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
- Adapt quickly to changing situations to support the store when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience preferred.
- A valid SIA licence desirable, although not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, confident and professional approach.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.
- Must be able to provide a 5‑year checkable work history within the UK.
