We are looking for certified nurses or paramedics to provide healthcare services to detainees in custody suites. This role is part of a criminal justice partnership and supports the health and wellbeing of some of society’s most vulnerable individuals. Your care will be delivered under pressure in a team environment in collaboration with the Police.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver healthcare to detainees within custody suites.
  • Maintain safety of detainees with round‑the‑clock coverage.
  • Work flexible shift patterns across base and assigned regional custody suites.
  • Adhere to team rota: 4 shifts on and 4 days off, including 2‑day shifts (06:45‑19:00) and 2‑night shifts (18:45‑07:00).
  • Collaborate with Police and patients to manage diverse clinical situations.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse (RN, RGN, or dual registered RMN) or paramedic with 2+ years post‑qualification experience.
  • Minimum Band 5 experience for nurses.
  • Experience in patient‑facing roles such as Accident & Emergency, General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK: British passport or Indefinite Leave to Remain for at least 3 years, with no absences outside the UK longer than 3 months.
  • Subject to Police vetting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: £41,000 per year.
  • £1,000 bonus upon completion of 12 months service.
  • Estimated overtime: £3,500 per annum.
  • Employer pays NMC/HCPC registration.

Schedule

  • Full time with fixed shift rota: 4 shifts on and 4 days off.
  • Night shifts may be required for part‑time staff.
  • Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
